Just as a Federal High Court in Kano was granting bail to virulent Katsina State government critic, Mahdi Shehu, a disturbing video of him lamenting his predicament in the hands of Katsina State government officials and the Police was making the rounds on social media.

Shehu pleaded not guilty to all the six count charges brought against him by the Katsina State Government, but in the video, with a braced neck and waist, he told how he was bitten by a snake and stung by a scorpion leading to his ailment.
He also railed at the government for incapacitating him.
On his bail, Justice Ambrose Lewis Allagoa, the presiding judge, said the accused should be remanded in correctional service pending the fulfilment of his bail condition.
He was granted bail in the sum of N10 million and one surety in like some. The court said the surety must be a resident of Kano and have a landed property there.
The matter was adjourned to May 19th for continuation. (Everyday)
