See and Be Seen: Investiture ceremony of Ijeoma Agwu as 12th President of Rotary Maitama

Ijeoma Joyce Agwu, a former National Financial Secretary of the International Federation of Women Lawyers, FIDA Nigeria, and a member of NBA Abuja (Unity Bar) who recently became the 12th President of Rotary Club Maitama, Abuja has announced that the club will spend over N18 million on humanitarian services in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as the club commences its new calendar year.

Chairman of the occasion and an Ex-Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim called on Nigerians to support efforts of humanitarian organisations whose projects are geared towards complementing government’s efforts to provide social amenities to the society.

During the investiture ceremony attended by friends, family, and several dignitaries, Rtn. Agwu announced that she and members of her executives for the 2023/2024 year will carry out a number of projects.

Some of the projects include: Outreach to Kuje Correctional Centres, select Secondary Schools (Multi-District Initiative); construction of Special Toilets in Solar Powered Borehole in a Boarding Girls Secondary School (CC), building and equipping the Maternity Wing in Galuwyi PHC; presentation of birthing kits to pregnant women in Asokoro General Hospital; N10,000 Grant to 10 indigent roadside vendors, the introduction of WASH Clubs in a public Secondary school in Piakasa, Abuja and many more.
