IWD 2021: The women in my life

My entire life is tied to women. If as at today my life is a success story, definitely the credits goes to women -my mother, my step mother, my sisters and lately my wife.

Having experienced and still experiencing the positive effect of women, I have committed my self to the advancement of women.

I don’t subscribe to the idea of limiting the lives of women to the kitchen alone. Far from that, I am of the absolute belief that if our women were to be given the necessary support to unleash their potentials for the benefit of our society, Northern Nigeria and indeed Nigeria could have been a better place.

For our society to prosper, we must see girl child as an asset not a liability.

Asma’u bint Fodiyo, Aisha Matawalle, late Halima Shitu, Prof Batoul, Professor Ruqayyatu Rufa’i and Huwaila Esq., are few testimonials of what women can do in making our society great if given the opportunity.

As I join the world in celebrating the Women’s day, I call on our youths to have a paradigm shift on the role of women in the society.

May our Women prosper and may the society allow the women play the their role and make our society better.
