The Spirit Test.
“Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world” (1John 4:1 NLT)_l
The key to unravelling prophecy is in His Spirit in us. It takes a person filled with God’s Spirit to discern and interprete prophecies. The natural mind can hardly get it.
“The natural man doesn’t receive the things of God’s Spirit, they are foolishness to him, and he can’t know them, because they are spiritually discerned”
(1 Cor. 2:14, WEB)
A believer who is not familiar with the voice of God and the promptings of the Holy Spirit can hardly discern or distinguish prophets and prophecies.
“The sheep follow him because they know his voice and recognize his call. They will never follow a stranger, but will run away from him, because they do not know his voice” (John 10:4-5 AMP)
