Women’s Democracy Network-Africa (WDN-Africa) a vibrant network of exceptional women political leaders influencing women’s rights and gender equality in Africa is elated on the inauguration of H.E. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah President of the Republic of Namibia. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to H.E. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and the people of Republic of Namibia upon this historic occasion of the inauguration of the first female President of the Republic of Namibia.
WDN-Africa recognizes the immense expectations placed on a leader of Her Excellency Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah’s caliber and reaffirms that exceptional leadership thrives on strong governance systems anchored by efficient oversight and accountability mechanisms and the collective support of citizens. Her election marks a significant milestone in Namibia’s democratic journey, reflecting the collective will of its people and their commitment to an inclusive and prosperous future. We commend the people of Namibia for upholding democratic principles through a peaceful and transparent electoral process, reinforcing the strength of the nation’s institutions.
As women leaders, we commit to play our part to contribute to an Africa where women take up leadership opportunities at the highest level including President. We call on all Namibians and the world to support H.E. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah in delivering on her election mandate. We are confident that under her leadership, Namibia will continue to foster an environment where the voices of marginalized groups are heard, and their contributions to national development are fully recognized.
