Recently, a woman named Suwaiba Nasaru recounted her ordeal in the hands of kidnappers on Boxing Day to newsmen. Bandits had raided the village of Biya Ki Kwana of Batsari local government area of Katsina State and injured two young man before abducting ten women.
Among those abducted was a heavily pregnant Suwaiba Nasaru alongside her 2 years old daughter.
Suwaiba Nasaru disclosed that her husband had traveled to the south in search of work at the time gunmen raided their village. The very traumatised lady said she and the other women walked endlessly throughout the night before being placed on motorcycles which eventually conveyed them to the kidnappers’ den.
Shortly after their arrival, Suwaiba’ s water broke and soon afterwards she gave birth. One of the abducted women midwifed the birth while their abductors watched.
She further related that the abductors brought her hot water for bath and assisted in cleaning the baby. They were also the ones who brought the razor blade used to cut the umbilical cord.
