Regina Daniels’ visit sparks reunion rumours, mother says: She only came to see her children

A brief visit by Nollywood actress Regina Daniels to see her children has ignited fresh speculation about her troubled marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko, prompting her family to publicly reject claims that the estranged couple have reconciled.

ABUJA — The family of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has dismissed reports suggesting that she has reconciled with her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, insisting that her recent visit to the senator’s residence was solely to spend time with her children and should not be interpreted as a return to the marriage.

The clarification follows days of intense speculation on social media after photographs and videos emerged showing the actress at the senator’s residence with her children and stepchildren. The images fuelled claims that the high-profile couple had quietly resolved their differences after months of public acrimony.

However, members of Regina’s family have firmly rejected that narrative.

Her younger sister, Destiny Daniels, said the actress was granted access to see her children and urged the public to stop reading more into the visit than the facts support.

“Y’all should chill. She was granted a visit to see her children just last night,” Destiny wrote on Instagram, adding that her sister “is still very much single for now.” She also dismissed speculation that Regina was pregnant, attributing recent online rumours to changes in her appearance rather than another pregnancy.

Regina’s mother, veteran actress and filmmaker Rita Daniels, has echoed the same position, maintaining that her daughter’s presence at the residence was motivated entirely by her desire to spend time with her children. According to messages shared publicly, she said Regina had been invited to see the children and that the visit should not be construed as evidence of reconciliation.

The latest development comes against the backdrop of one of Nigeria’s most closely watched celebrity marital disputes.

The relationship between Regina and the Delta North senator has dominated public discourse for months following a series of allegations and counter-allegations exchanged in public.

Regina has consistently denied the allegations levelled against her by the senator. Instead, she has accused him of attempting to create what she describes as a false and damaging narrative about her and her family. The actress has also alleged that she experienced controlling behaviour during the relationship and that efforts were made to isolate her from relatives and close associates—claims Senator Nwoko has repeatedly denied.

The dispute later found its way into court, where proceedings relating to the couple’s children drew widespread public attention. Court records indicate that Regina was granted supervised access to the children under conditions laid down by the court pending the determination of the broader dispute.

Despite the renewed attention generated by her recent visit, neither Regina nor Senator Nwoko has announced any change in their legal or personal circumstances.

For now, the actress’s family insists that the public should resist treating a mother’s visit to her children as evidence that the couple have put their differences behind them.

As public fascination with the dispute continues, the latest clarification underscores the tension between private family matters and the relentless scrutiny that accompanies celebrity relationships in the age of social media.
