As the General Overseer of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners’ Chapel International, Bishop David Oyedepo is getting set to commence work on a 100,000 capacity church building among other projects, a Nigerian man simply identified as Chinedu has called on the Bishop to use funds for the proposed “100,000 capacity Ark” project to benefit Nigerian youths.
Oyedepo recently disclosed the commencement of the long-awaited megachurch auditorium project to be carried out by the Church during a Sunday service.
He said; “We are commencing the 100,000 Capacity Ark Project very soon. A new campus for Faith academy.”
The project which involves the demolition of the old Faith Academy, as well as Word of Faith Bible Institute among other facilities, will also include the transformation of a 50,000 capacity (former largest world auditorium) Faith Tabernacle into an overflow facility while a 20 storey tower will also be constructed as the headquarters of the church. The 20-floor tower is to replace the initially planned 12-floor building which was to have been built with the initial Faith Theatre Project in 2015.
Reacting to the proposed building, a Nigerian youth, Chinedu begged Oyedepo to convert the funds to building a 100,000 capacity employment value for Nigerian youth.
Chinedu added that the word of prosperity heard so far can last another 100,000 years and more.
“Bishop Oyedepo, this is an appeal, I am on my knees begging. Instead of building another 100,000 capacity church, please, set up 100,000 employment value for Nigerian youths,” he said.
“Honestly, we have heard the word, as a matter of fact, the prosperity we have heard from you can last us another 100,000 years.
“I beg you in the name of almighty God that you serve, instead of the 100,000 capacity church, give us a 100,000 capacity industry and earn on monthly basis.”
Refering to the other properties owned by the church and Oyedepo, he said he expressed appreciation for jobs created in the “ministry” so far, but he wants more.
“You have a school, is it l and several means of earning a livelihood, not as if peoples are not employed under you, working under your ministry but we can not all work under the ministry,” Chinedu added.
“Your school produces a lot of graduates, now the number of people you school produces have you been able to employ all of them? You are building a capacity church so that every Sunday and other days people will come to donate.
“This is not the time for this, Nigerian need better values than the 100,000 capacity church, even Europeans that brought Christianity did not do like this but we still heard the gospel in Africa.”
Chinedu heald that his request was in the interest of all Nigerian youths.
“I am begging you please instead of 100,000 capacity church, create employment for Nigerian youths,” he added.
“I am sure this is the wish of all Nigerian youth, create 100,000 capacity employment value, not 100,000 capacity church”
