In Nigeria, the following are exempted from obeying traffic signs:
- The driver of a fire-fighting vehicle;
- a rescue vehicle or an ambulance who drives such vehicle in the performance of his duties;
- An officer of the law who drives a vehicle under emergency.
In each case, the drivers are expected to have due regard to the safety of other road users.
