Isn’t it time to commence extradition of Kemi Badenoch for her repeated violations of the Cybercrimes Prohibition Act?

This is on a lighter note!!!

The Extradition Act, Chapter (Cap.) E25, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 is the law that governs the procedures for arraignment and prosecution of individuals who have violated either Nigeria’s laws or the laws of a foreign country.

In recent times, this Extradition legislation has been applied to send several Nigerians to the United States of America to stand trial for the crimes that they committed in the USA.

For example, in January 2025, it was reported that: “A Nigerian man was extradited to the U.S. after he was indicted in connection with the sextortion of a South Carolina teen who died by suicide, the Justice Department said Monday.

Hassanbunhussein Abolore Lawal, 24, allegedly posed as a young woman on social media and got 17-year-old Gavin Guffey to send him “compromising photos,” the Justice Department said. Lawal then allegedly threatened to ruin Guffey’s reputation by leaking the photos unless he sent Lawal money, the Justice Department said.”

Nigeria has also recently expressed a desire to apply the Extradition legislation to repatriate Simon Ekpa for him to stand trial in Nigeria for terrorism-related offences.

The question arises: Isn’t it Time to Commence the Extradition of Kemi Badenoch for her Repeated Violations of the Cybercrimes Prohibition Act?

The reason is because in Nigeria in recent times, the Cybercrimes Prohibition Act is the most utilised legislation for prosecution of offenders who insult government officials or it’s institutions.

Kemi Badenoch has repeatedly insulted the Nigerian Police by accusing them of theft of her brother’s shoes and wristwatch.

How can she make such wild accusations and get away with it, when recently the Police Public Relations Officer-PRO told Nigerians that police officers are not paupers and he posted the picture of a lady police officer that wore a wristwatch that is worth over ₦1,000,000!!!

Another way that Kemi Badenoch is disobeying and insulting Nigerian public officials is that in December 2024, the Vice-President of Nigeria specifically directed Kemi Badenoch to stop using the “Kemi” which is a Nigerian name. However, up till today, Mrs. Badenoch has refused to obey that directive!!!

The Nigerian Police has successfully arrested and prosecuted Yele Sowore, Ms. Olamide Thomas and a litany of others under the Cybercrimes Prohibition Act, why can they not add Kemi Badenoch to the list?

After all, nobody is above the law!!!!
