- Celebrates Chief Mrs. Victoria Awomolo, SAN on her nomination as member of the Body
The International Federation of Women Lawyers, FIDA Nigeria, Abuja branch on Thursday paid a curtsey visit to the newly appointed Chairman of Nigeria’s Body of Benchers (BoB), Asiwaju Adegbogyega Solomon Awomolo, SAN.
Leading a delegation comprising of her Executive Committee members to the congratulatory visit, Chairperson of FIDA Abuja, Chibuzo M. Nwosu, conveyed the goodwill of the Branch and eulogized the 52nd BoB Chair.
According to a statement signed by Charity C. Ibezim, FIDA Abuja’s Assistant General Secretary, Ms. Nwosu “felicitated Asiwaju for his well-deserved achievement which is a true testament of his selfless service, years of hard work, diligence and enormous cognate experience as a dedicated legal practitioner.
“She added that as a father of the Branch, who had consistently supported the Branch, there was no doubt that the Almighty will continue to guard, strengthen and equip him with wisdom and courage to lead well and accomplish greater strides for the legal profession.
“She expressed in Yoruba, Eku Orire, Oye Amori, Igba yin atu wa lara (meaning, congratulations, your reign shall be successful and bring us rest of mind).
“The Chairperson, on behalf of the Branch, presented a Congratulatory letter and card to Asiwaju as a reminder of this great achievement.
“In response, Asiwaju expressed immense gratitude to God for the position and appreciated FIDA for her kind gesture and prayers.
“In addition to the celebration, the Chairperson also congratulated the Branch’s very own Elegant Elder Chic Chief, Mrs. Victoria Olufumilayo Awomolo, SAN, for her appointment as a member of the Body of Benchers (a special elevation and celebration for FIDA Abuja as the first of its kind)
“The Chairperson and EXCOs congratulated her for the great feat and also prayed for God’s direction and guidance.”
