Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami has promised to provide Telecommunications sector the enabling environment to thrive.
He made the promise when he received in audience, the top management of MTN Nigeria, led by the Chairman, Board of Directors, Dr Ernest C. Ndukwe.
He assured the sector that government would not come up with policies that would stiffle development in the sector.
Ndukwe had told the minister that the main aim of the working visit was to introduce the CEO Designate of MTN Nigeria, Mr Karl Toriola to him and also to pledge commitment to the MTN Nigerianization Agenda.
In his remarks, the MTN CEO designate commended the minister for the leadership he is providing in the sector which has already led to the development of the National Broadband Plan 2020 – 2025 and the ongoing NIN-SIM Linkage Exercise.
