Not a few residents and indigenes of Ekiti State were stunned when news filtered out that a part of the new state high court building housing the Chief Judge’s chamber collapsed had not only collapsed but that it fell on the Chief Judge who was still in his chambers.
Although he sustained some injuries, His Lordship, Hon. Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, escaped death when the shocking incident occurred on Wednesday.
Reports disclosed that the accident which occurred at the close of work on Wednesday evening might be related to the excessive rain that may have compromised the base of the newly constructed complex.
Sources revealed that the Chief Judge, who was badly injured in the incident is presently at the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital in Ado-Ekiti, where he is still undergoing treatment.
