Delete offensive tweet, recant libelous statement, or meet me in court – Sam Amadi to Fani-Kayode

Dr. Sam Amadi onetime Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), has told the spokesperson of the Bola Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council, Femi Fani-Kayode to apologise for falsely representing him on Twitter or face legal action.

Dr. Amadi also warned that he would “activate all known legal process (s)” should Fani-Kayode fail to delete the offensive tweet and recant the defamatory statement.

The former NERC CEO said these in a letter from his lawyers to Fani-Kayode, wherein he accused the ex-Minister of Aviation of making false claims about him and disparaging his character along the line in a post on his Twitter account.

In a post on his Twitter account, Fani-Kayode alleged that Sam Amadi used the photograph of the Chief Justice of Nigeria in a wheelchair and claimed that he was on his way to see President-elect in the UK.

“Creatures like one Sam Amadi who used the CJN’s picture in a wheelchair & claimed he was on his way to see the President-elect in the UK for a meeting about the 2023 presidential election should not only be invited by the DSS & NPF, investigated & charged to court for defamation, criminal falsehood, and incitement but they should also have pictures of their ugly faces printed on toilet paper & used to clean dirty but-holes,” Fani-Kayode wrote.

However, Dr. Amadi who denied making any post linking the CJN with Tinubu on his Twitter account, maintains that Fani-Kayode should apologise for his statement against him and delete the post on his Twitter account.

Here is the letter.
